USA Libraries Newsletter

 

The USA Libraries Newsletter is the official publication of USA Libraries, dedicated to sharing news, insights, and perspectives relevant to our library community. We aim to connect library users with valuable resources, celebrate library initiatives, and provide a platform for student, faculty, and staff voices on topics related to information, learning, and discovery.

We invite submissions from all library faculty and staff, as well as members of the USA community.

The newsletter has expanded its scope of content with the hope of publishing on a wider range of topics and information. As such, there are five primary categories we are soliciting contributions for:

  1.  Research Round-Up - Highlight library supports & resources, or offer tips & tools to help bolster research/study habits.
  2.  Library News - What鈥檚 new at the libraries? Spotlight a recent library event or program, share updates and highlights, etc.
  3.  Odds & Bookends - Share a library story, a resource review, a book recommendation, or other library related fun.
  4.  Faculty & Staff Spotlights - Share a professional accomplishment (such as a publication, conference presentation, or professional organization membership).
  5.  Upcoming Events - Submit a relevant save-the-date. Please be aware that the newsletter only publishes twice a year, near the end of Fall and Spring semesters, and the Daily Digest may work better for pending events.

Formatting

  • Submit content as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
  • Use a clear, readable font (e.g., Times New Roman, Calibri).
  • Single-space your text.
  • Include a suggested title for your submission.
  • Include your name and job position (or for student/alumni contributors, include name, major, and year of graduation).
  • *Word count(s):
    • Research Round-Up: 250 - 400 words
    • Library News: 250 - 500 words
    • Odds & Bookends: 400 - 500 words
    • Faculty & Staff Spotlights: Faculty/staff name and citation.
    • Upcoming Events: Event name, date, and time.

While we are unable to offer monetary compensation, content contributors for categories 1-3 are given full attribution for their work - unless otherwise requested.

Also, please note that content submissions may be edited for clarity and consistency as part of the newsletter publication process.
